One of the biggest fish in the Nigerian music industry, rapper and singer Olamide Adedeji simply known as Olamide has revealed that he started a music label to sign several good artistes in the country because he sees it as an opportunity to give back to the community.
According to the YBNL superstar boss, he started the label to spend his "too much money" on the careers of young artists. "It's my way of giving back to the community". He revealed this in an interview with Apple Music's Ebro Darden.
He said: "I just started raising money and the money started getting too much for me. I mean, yeah, I don't have anything to do with all this money, mehn, I have to make new friends. Let me spend money on people. "It's like my little way of giving back to the community."
Olamide's YBNL Nation is home to two of the country's hottest new generation Afrobeat artists. Fireboy DML and Asake.
Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Young Jonn and Pheelz were previously signed to the label.
