The Federal Capital Territory Administration on Monday demolished a multi-million naira two-storey house located at Plot 226 Cadastral Zone, A02 Wuse 1, Wuse Zone 6 Area built on unapproved land.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Monday, the Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, said the building allegedly belonged to the late Alake Egba, Oba Oye Lipede.
Galadima said: "We demolished the duplex because someone built on someone else's land without a valid title and planning approval. Investigation revealed that the developer is not the owner of the land, so we had to remove the building.
“We put the building in this stage before demolition because we had to control all the processes. He was served with all the final notices, but being the reluctant developer that he was, he continued regardless of the notices we served him.
"After investigation, we found out about the original ownership, so we have to removed it. We will definitely consult with the legal department to find out what is the next course of action against the developer."
