During an interview with Zikoko, the 'King Of Boys' artist revealed that he and singer 9ice had their CDs rejected by a radio station because they predominantly performed in Yoruba, a Nigerian language.
Recalling the incident, Reminisce said, "Our first major rejection happened at a radio station on the Island. We had gone there to submit our music CDs for airplay, but the feedback we received was disheartening. They told us that we would never succeed."
He further explained, "They criticized 9ice for singing in Yoruba, comparing his style to that of a native doctor. As for me, one of the staff members questioned my rap style, asking why I couldn't be more like Ruggedman. They advised us to find something else to do with our lives and strive for improvement."
Despite this initial setback, Reminisce and 9ice persevered and went on to achieve great success in the music industry. Their rejection served as a motivation to prove their critics wrong and pursue their passion even more passionately.
