On November 12, 2023, Buguwa Kwaji, a 30-year-old man residing in Aljannaru village in Song LGA, Adamawa state, was apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command. He was arrested for the heinous act of defiling a 2-year-old girl. Buguwa confessed to the crime, attributing his actions to being under the influence of alcohol.
The arrest came about after the elder sister of the victim caught Buguwa in the act and immediately alerted the authorities. The police were able to swiftly apprehend him and take him into custody. It is worth noting that Buguwa is currently married, and his wife is expecting a child.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the spokesperson for the police command, confirmed the arrest. Furthermore, Commissioner of Police Afolabi Babatola has instructed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the suspect faces prosecution for his heinous crime.
“After drinking a gin known as voltage on that fateful day, I lay down, and the little girl came and started playing on my body. So I raped her because I could not resist the urge for sex” Buguwa said
