The bail was set at N300 million and Justice Hamza Muazu ruled that Emefiele must produce two sureties with landed property in the Maitama District of the FCT. Emefiele was not present in court as he had been remanded at Kuje Prison last week. This ruling comes after another FCT High Court ordered his release two weeks ago in a fundamental human rights suit he filed against the federal government.
The trial is set to commence on November 28 and the court has adjourned until then.
