Popular Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has announced on Instagram that he and his wife Bunmi Ninalowo have decided to go their separate ways.
The couple, known for their public love and remarkable reconciliation after 12 years apart, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their decision.
"In the end, we all live with the consequences of our actions," said the actor.
Ninalowo shared the news on his Instagram account on Friday, expressing his sadness but saying he had decided to go his own way "because of my health and mental state" and his two children, a son and a daughter.
In an emotional Instagram post, the actor announced, "I finally accept the reality of the end of the road! A sad reality that gives way and hope for a brighter and more fulfilling future! A reality that is sad for my loving and sweet children. but necessary for a peaceful and lovely future."
Ninalowo credited his children's growth and understanding in making the difficult decision. He said: "A sad reality that screams that I will not live and cannot live forever and i must take care of my health and my state of mind for the good of all."
The actor thanked for the support he has received and asked for prayers for him and his ex-wife as they go through a difficult period in their lives.
"My wife and I have decided to go our separate ways and move toward an irreconcilable divorce. Please respect our privacy and pray for us during this process as we heal and continue to live independently while taking care of what we love most together, our children.
The divorce comes as a shock to many who admired them and celebrated their previous reconciliation after years of separation.
