Nollywood actor Bolanle Ninalowo has deleted all pictures of his wife Bunmi Ninalowo from his Instagram page hours after announcing his divorce.
The couple, who married 16 years ago, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.
News of their divorce sparked reactions from Nigerians on social media, with many expressing shock and sadness.
Some social media users blamed the couple's public affairs for their split, while others questioned the authenticity of the reconciliation after the initial split.
One user, Oloyede Oluseyi, wrote on Instagram: “Creative couples are different from couples who actually enjoy their marriage. If you see too many cameras, it's mostly a scam. People who enjoy their wedding don't even remember to register it."
Another user, Bash Anthony, commented on X (formerly Twitter): "After all the paparazzi and public displays of love, I've said many times that the only way to redeem a marriage is to marry within the family, siblings should be allowed to marry . .. each other.
"There is an existing family bond that cannot be broken, and besides not marrying a sibling means marrying someone from a different cultural, religious and family upbringing, religiously we all come from one man, Adam."
@Henrietta_bby wrote: "Well even if you say you can forgive the cheating you may never forget and that's where it all starts."
Obikoya Adebowale wondered: "I don't understand why celebrity marriages don't last these days."
The couple has not commented further on their split.
